So I walked to Purley way and caught a No 289 at 1105 to Purley where I changed for a No 405 to take me back to Mersthamat 1129. I then walked to the COOP where there is a bus stop for the one way circulation both the No 430 and No 435 do Portland Drive and Malmstone Avenue and back along Bletchlingley Road.

I waited quite a while the bus display in the shelter suggested a 435 in 18 minutes and the one I missed as I arrived was presuamble a previously late running bus. I made an error though and boarded a No 430 at 1226 which was Metrobus 6122 but since they are identical routes around the estate and on to Redhill, so I resolved to alight when we arrived at Redhill. The bus took us left into Albury Road at 1231 then right Southcote Road and into Battlebridge Lane. The route followed the railway along French roadand left up Ladbroke Road to reach the A23 just by Redhill station. So after a circuit of the roundabout and into the bus station I alighted.

It was not until 1321 that I was genuinely aboard a No 435. Owing to the one way system the bus had to go south to go west and it wormed it way to the original route of the A25 road and headed west towards Reigate.

Once at Reigate we headed south after the cinema at 1334 but not all the way to Woodhatch as at Park Lane East we turned abruptly right and did a run around this estate finally getting to Woodhatch via Eastrnor Road, Allingham Road and finally Sandcross Lane.

At Woodhatch we joined with the route No 424 and YX11HNT a No 430 was passed going the other way around. We crossed directly over the A217 and headed for Earlswood lakes. Taking the left turn into Maple Road we reached the A23 and went straight across and under the railway to reach the East Surrey Hospital at 1354.

We returned to the A23 and took this in the direction of Redhill. However, we didn't go the direct way as some other buses do, but turned right into Woodlands Road with Compass Bus Route No 32 past Earlswood station. After crossing St Johns Road we went back to the A23 and I alighted on arrival back at the bus station at 1411.

Instead of going home as it was a nice day I took a train to Gatwick Airport for a bit before returning the way I had come by No 405 and 289 buses.
